Tips to Boost Your LinkedIn Presence

LinkedIn can often be an overlooked social media platform, but when it comes to networking and professional development, LinkedIn is where you want to be. Here are a few tips to help you establish a strong presence on LinkedIn.

Interact with your audience on your posts

LinkedIn is still in fact a social networking platform and should be used for brand awareness, leadership, and building a community. One easy way to interact more with your audience is to post CONSISTENTLY. Whether this is 3 times a week or 1-2 times a day, posting consistently will increase visibility and your audience will come to expect to see your posts.

Along with posting consistently, you should ask thoughtful questions that will encourage commenting. By posing a question in your posts, your audience is more likely to not only read the post but also comment with their own insights or answers. This simple method will help with fostering a community and with engagement.

Use visuals and test different types of content

Social media platforms are constantly changing and that means the type of content we consume is also changing. Test out different formats when you post. You could try an attention-grabbing graphic or short-form video content. Finding what type of content to post that works best for you and your audience will take time but it is important. One easy and free platform to create attention-grabbing graphics is Canva.

Make sure you have a complete LinkedIn page

It is actually fairly common that people will not complete their LinkedIn profile page. Take 15 minutes out of your day and make sure you have all necessary fields completed like a profile picture, education, work history, etc. Try and fill out as much as you can. This will only help you to appear in search results more often and once again will increase visibility.

Engage with your network

This tip is perhaps the most important of all. It’s not only interacting with your audience on your own posts but in order to be more present on LinkedIn (or any social media platform for that matter), you need to engage with other people on their posts. Comment, share, and interact with posts from your connections. It’s one thing to post consistently but the key to performing well is to interact with others. By liking, commenting, and sharing others’ posts, you will appear on more timelines, increase your visibility and most importantly BUILD CONNECTIONS.

By following these 4 simple tips, you should begin to see a boost in your LinkedIn presence. Test them out and see how they work for you! Let us know if you have any other tips that have worked for you on LinkedIn.
